Our History

On January 16, 1952, a group of people requested permission from the Consistory of 1st Allendale CRC to canvas the area with a view of starting another church.  The canvassing showed there were 57 families willing to start a new church on the west end of town.  The first service of the new church was held June 15, 1952.  Services were first held at the Christian School, later in the "new" townhall.  A financial gift was received from 1st Allendale CRC, land was purchased on Brown St. and a Parsonage was completed in December 1952.  Church construction began in April 1953 and dedication was held January 1, 1954.

Pastors have included:  Rev. Chester Schemper (1952-1957), Rev. Oostendorp (1958-1971), Rev Robert Ritsema (1971-1978), Rev Arthur VanWyhe (1978-1985), Rev. Dennis Royall (1986-1991), Rev. James DeVries (1992-2003), Rev. Harold Veldman (2005-current).
