Ø     Fourth of July Allendale Community Worship Service - Join with fellow believers from other churches in the area to honor the Lord together. The service will be held at the Allendale Township Veterans Memorial Park tonight at 6:00 PM. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and come join together in worship and enjoy ice cream afterwards! In case of rain, the service will be held in First Allendale CRC.

Ø     Prayer Intercessors will meet this Wed., the 7th, at 10 AM at church. If you have never come before, join in an hour of prayer. All prayer needs welcomed. The Ladies monthly Prayer Group will meet next Monday morning, July 12, rather than tomorrow because of the holiday.

Ø     Please submit all items to be included in the next Second Thoughts newsletter in to the church office by July 15 or into the newsletter mailbox (bottom row, 2nd from left) or email to Gail Punt at Gailepunt@aol.com by July 18. Newsletter out: Aug. 1.

Ø     GEMS Counselors attending the annual conference in Minnesota are collecting pop cans for travel expenses. A container is available in the lobby. If you want cans picked up from your home after an Open House or holiday gathering, call Lonna Driesenga at 892-4808.

Ø     Details about Seed Money and the Building Principle Reduction Match, two challenges taking place to reduce debt on our facilities, are available at the Information Desk.

Ø     Prayer Request: Back to God Ministries International: Pray for the joint ministry of radio broadcast, pastoral counseling and follow-up by BTGMI and CRC World Missions staff in Haiti. Staff reports that people seem to be more open to hearing the Gospel. Pray that the Word proclaimed will help bring healing and draw people into relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ø     Continue your 4th of July celebrations with an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast tomorrow morning, Mon. July 5, at Allendale Christian School!  The entire community is welcome.  Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.  Kids 3 years old and under eat free.  Breakfast will be served from 7-10 AM in the school gym.

Ø   The Allens will be in concert on Sat., July 10, at 7 PM at the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds. Their harmony and humor are sure to thrill your heart.  Dinner will be available from 5 to 6:30 PM.  Questions?  Please call 616-842-4478.  

Ø     Thank you for your participation in Lakeshore Pregnancy Center’s annual LifeWalk event! On the day of the walk $76,572 was raised for our four Lakeshore Pregnancy Centers. We are grateful for your partnership that allows us to provide free services, with the love of Christ, to families facing unplanned pregnancies. – Cori Frasso, LifeWalk Coordinator

Ø     The Lakeshore Pregnancy Center is offering a training session for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer peer counselor. This is a tremendous opportunity to impact lives of women.  Classes will be held in Holland Aug. 3, 4, 6, 10, 11 & 13 from 9 AM – 2 PM. This is a 27-hour training and all classes are required.  Interested? Please call Carolyn (ext. 12) or Sue (ext. 22), at 396-5840, Mon. 9am-7pm, Tues.-Thurs. 9am-5pm.  If these dates don’t work for you, other volunteer opportunities are available. Please call.  

Ø     Instant TRIP at Allendale Christian School will be held "every other" Wed. (7-7:30 PM) and Thurs. (9-9:30 AM) this summer:  July 7, 8, 21&22; August 4, 5, 18&19; & Sept. 1&2.  Gift cards at Instant TRIP are available on a first come, first serve basis. Cash and checks accepted. Questions? Ø     The next Feeding America MFP (Mobile Food Pantry): July 10 at Allendale Community Church. 9:00 AM - prayer with volunteers; 9:30 AM - truck arrives for unloading. The first 100 people with need will receive food. Pray those who come and their needs.

Ø     World Missions: While many people enjoy a time of rest and relaxation, a crew of new missionaries are hard at work preparing for challenging overseas assignments. This week they will undergo intensive orientation. Add a piece of armor to their gear by remembering them in prayer.
