Ø     The evening service on May 30, Memorial Day weekend, will be a combined service at First Allendale CRC at 5:30 pm. Pastor Harold Veldman will be preaching. An offering will be received for Love INC.

Ø     Council officers for 2010-2011 are: President, Mark Kuzee; Vice President, Arlyn Smits; Clerk, Rob Feenstra; and Treasurer, Brian Roon.  Thank you to the following retiring Council members for their years of service: Elders - Bern Lemmen, Jim Brink, Dave Feenstra, Steve Ensing and Deacons - Wes Brower, Nick Moelker, and Patrick Williams. Installation of new Council members will take place on June 6.  There will be a Council Retreat on Tues., May 18, for all retiring/current/and new Council members. Please meet at church at 6:00 pm to carpool to the Weaver House located at Pine Bend Park near Lake Michigan. The retreat will begin at 6:30 pm with a light dinner there. Questions? Ø     Senior Men’s “Social” Breakfast: Join us tomorrow morning, Monday, May 17, at 8:00 am at Grand Coney Restaurant for good food and fellowship. All are welcome.

Ø     Families in need of Christian School tuition assistance, please contact Derk Dodde either in person, by email at derkdodde@gmail.com, or by phone at 299-5854 to get a form. Forms will need to be turned in by May 30.

Ø     The Coffee Break/Story Hour Ministry has just completed its 31^st year here in Allendale. As we anticipate starting our 32^nd year in the fall, we are in need of nursery helpers and children’s leaders. If God is calling you to be used in this ministry, please call Sarah Weaver at 389-7521 or Carol Gulker at 895-6321.

Ø     A small group of men and women meet for prayer on the 1^st and 3^rd Wednesdays each month at 10 am in the double room. The purpose is to intercede in prayer for the needs of our country, community, church, its activities and anyone needing prayers. God has blessed this ministry with many answers to the prayers offered. Anyone can participate in this ministry. If you have difficulty praying aloud, that is okay! Our Father hears all prayers! If you have questions, please call Dave Bosch at 291-5917 or Rachael Taylor at 895-9414. If you have a special prayer need, please call Dave or Rachael also so that your need may be brought before the group. All prayer needs are held in absolute confidence by the intercessors. Names of those needing prayer can be eliminated if you desire.

Ø     Allendale Christian School is staffing a home at 7052 Highland West Dr. built by Creekside Construction, Inc in the Spring Parade of Homes.  Volunteers may sit with a friend, but no children under 8 years old please. Times help is needed: Fri., May 28 (1-9pm), Sat., May 29 (1-9pm), Mon., Memorial Day, May 31 (1-9pm), Fri., June 4 (6-9pm), Sat., June 5 (1-9pm), Wed., June 9 (1-9pm), Fri., June 11 (6-9pm), Sat., June 12 (1-9pm), 1-9pm times may be split into shifts to fit your availability. Ø     Camp Geneva will host an Open House today from 2-4 pm. There will be games for younger children and the pool will be open. Everyone is invited.

Ø     Volunteers are needed at Love INC to sort donations; hang clothes, price items, and to provide childcare for LOVE INC ministries. For more information, please call Ron at 895-5683, ext 104. Items for the Food Pantry are always appreciated too.

Ø     Lakeshore Pregnancy Center is inviting all women, no experience necessary, to participate in a 9-hole Golf Scramble on Mon., May 24. A continental breakfast and lunch are included! Locations: Railside Golf Course in Byron Center.
