Ø     Church School classes will not meet today. Classes will resume next Sunday, January 3.

Ø     Because of the holidays, the church office will not be open during normal hours this week.

Ø     The GEMS theme this year is focused on prayer and we are praying for Yennifer from Guatemala to receive a sponsor this Christmas. Have you ever thought of sponsoring a child from another country? Compassion Sponsorship program helps children like Yennifer break free from poverty and receive an education. If you are interested in sponsoring Yennifer or have questions about Compassion, please contact Rachael Taylor at 895-9414.

Ø     Thank you everyone for helping make the Kids Hope USA Christmas Dinner such a great evening for the children and their families. The presence alone of the mentors and prayer partners made them feel so very special; but I know that they did so much more with their interactions.  Thank you to everyone who donated gifts for the families; they were very much appreciated. We couldn’t have done this will out the teamwork of many in this church. We had 112 people there and 17/18 Kids Hope USA children plus their siblings and parents were in attendance.

Ø     Mentors & Prayer Partners: Thank you so much for faithfully loving your KHUSA child each week.  It is very evident that these children mean a lot to you. They are each a child of God’s, so precious and so loved by our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

Ø     It is not too late to give a present to children at risk in our community. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. By being a Kids Hope USA mentor you meet with a child at Allendale Public school each week for 1 hour spending time getting to know a child, playing games, and doing some reading, simple math and other academics. It changes you as well as the child, gives hope to a child and helps you see God differently. I see smiles that once weren’t there and I have even seen an eagerness to learn where there was once only despair. Training is given as well as ongoing support. Ø     Come to the Staffmen Quartet’s New Year's Eve Concert from 8 pm –midnight at Grace Community Church in Hudsonville. Guests The Voices of Victory & The Men of Grace. An offering will be received for Harmony Homes and refreshments will be served. Come when you can, leave when you must.

Ø   Camp Greenwood in Gowan, MI is now accepting applications for employment at the camp for the summer.   College students are needed to serve as camp counselors starting June 1 to August 7.   High school youth are requested to apply as support staff starting June 12 to August 7.  Applications and job descriptions can be found online at www.campgreenwood.org.  See you this summer!!!
