Ø Enjoy singing? Join the women’s, 3 part, musical group which will sing in the Nov. 22 am service or join the mixed, 4 part, vocal group that’ll be singing Nov. 29 am. The women’s group will rehearse Thurs., Nov. 19 from 7-7:45 pm. The mixed vocal group will practice the 19th too, but from 7:45-8:30 pm and they will also practice on Wed., Nov. 25 from 7-8 pm.
Ø Church School classes will take 3 weeks to celebrate our Savior’s birth and your help is needed with crafts and story telling. The theme - 25 Days of Christmas – with each day remembering part of the nativity story with a visual. The children will be making a few of them as crafts. Ø Kids Hope USA reminder to mentors: On Tues., Nov. 10, school will dismiss at 12:05 pm, so no afternoon mentoring that day. Also, there will be no school on Fri., Nov. 13.
Ø Note from Dave Bosch: “Thanks so much for your prayers and support. Below is a web site where it is hoped you can track what is happening with our team in Haiti. You may not see many pictures of me because I will be the one taking them. Of course there is always another side to the coin and that is you will see Haiti from my view point - through my eyes. Pastor Jon DeBruyn hopes to post photos on this site to keep folks back hope apprised as to the happenings. http://www.prayermissions.org It should be under the heading "Prayer Warriors - Trip Diary". We leave tonight [Nov. 11] and board early in Detroit. We expect to return late on Nov. 22 or early on the 23rd. I pray that God will challenge us. Many of these trips frequently turn out to be "fluff" and not much more than a vacation. I have been praying that this will indeed be a real working trip, as I have been promised, and that Jesus will look at our work with a smile and say well done. “
Ø Our Thanksgiving Day Worship Service will begin at 9:30 am. A monetary offering will be divided between the A.C.T.S. Fund, which is used to help those in need in our church and in our community, and CRWRC Disaster Relief. Items will also be collected for the Love INC Food Pantry.
Ø Thank you for your donations for the care packages to be given to our post high adults 30 yrs. and under. We want them to know that we haven't forgotten them! Check out the bulletin board in the lobby for items to donate for this important ministry. Please return your contributions to the box under the bulletin board by next Sunday, the 22nd. If you haven't given me an address for a family member that qualifies, please do so this week. -- Deb Bosch

Ø Kids Nope USA is in need of 20 shoeboxes. Please bring them to the office as soon as possible. Christmas Boxes will be given to the KHUSA families this year. Your help is needed to make this a special Christmas for them. Please take a candy cane tag off of the candy cane tree in the lobby near the KHUSA office. Samples tags: body wash, shampoo, band-aids, lotion, toothpaste, colored pencils, crayola markers, pudding snack packs (4), hot chocolate mix (individual packet boxes), hand sanitizer, cough drops, $10 gift certificates to Family Fare, $10 gift certificates to Save-A-Lot, packaged cookies, and Christmas candy. We have twenty KHUSA children this year to which we’d love to give gifts. Please bring items back to the tree no later than Sun., Dec. 6. Our Kids HOPE USA Christmas Dinner is planned for Wed., Dec 9. Thank you in advance for your generous support of this ministry! You have always been very generous. Ø Unity Christian High School is presenting the fairy tale musical Beauty & the Beast on Nov. 19 – 21 at 7:00 pm at the Zeeland East High School DeWitt Auditorium. Tickets are sold out for those performances. On Wed. evening, Nov. 18, young children and their parents are invited to a special matinee performance to be held at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Admission will be $4 per person, sold only at the door. There will be no advance ticket sales or reserved seating for this performance.
Ø The 53rd Annual Harvest Auction at Lamont Christian School will be held on Sat., Nov. 21. At 5:00 pm the doors will open, dinner will be served and silent auctions will begin. At 7:00 pm the silent auctions and gift certificate boards will close and the live auction will begin. There’ll be hundreds of exciting items available: overnight getaways; handcrafted items; electronics including a Wii; toys; gift certificates for restaurants, fun places and services you need anyway; grill; gift baskets; priceless student-made projects; and more! Ø The holidays may be difficult for families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The directors and staff of the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Homes invite you to join them in paying a memorial tribute to your loved ones. Ø Prayerfully consider joining the CRWRC 2010 Kenya Creation Care Tour coming in Feb. It is an activity-filled trip that embraces delightful diversity of God’s abundant creativity and challenges us with the realities of our environmental impact on His creation. The registration deadline is Dec. 15, 2009.
Ø Dordt College announces a new learning vacation coming June 6-11, 2010. Dordt professors Jim Schaap and Robb De Haan will lead their third Great Plains Experience. The motor coach tour will begin and end in Sioux Center at Dordt, and will take in a wide spectrum of topics including wind energy, changes in farming practices, the 1862 Sioux Indian Uprising, and lifestyles in small, rural communities.
