Bulletin for November 8, 2009

Bulletin Board

Ø  This morning the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated along with the Professions of Faith and shared testimonies of Katie Campbell, Mitch Van Gent, Cody Zahl and Hannah Zeinstra.

Ø  Reminder, no Church School and no Children’s Worship today.

Ø  New Mission Project: We would like to maintain contact with our 30 and under aged adults who are either in college, in the military, or have jobs and are living at home or elsewhere. So often we lose contact with these church members and we want them to know that we haven't forgotten them. Please look at the bulletin board in the back of church for more information on how you can be a part of this important ministry! If you haven't given me an address for a family member that qualifies, please do so as soon as possible. Thanks for your support, Deb Bosch

Ø  If you enjoy singing, join either the Women’s (3 part) musical group which will be singing in the Nov. 22 am service or be a part of the Mixed (4 part) vocal group that’s scheduled to sing Nov. 29 am. The women’s group met once, but will meet again the 11th and 19th from 7-7:45 pm. There is still room for you! Rehearsals for the Mixed vocal group will be: Wed., Nov. 11, and Thurs., Nov. 19, from 7:45-8:30 pm and also Wed., Nov. 25 from 7-8 pm.  Come and bring a neighbor, co-worker, friend, or anyone who loves to sing.

Ø  Church School needs your help in celebrating Christmas. For three weeks we will take time to celebrate this important event of our Savior's birth. We need help with crafts and a one time commitment of story telling. The theme is: 25 Days of Christmas. Each day remembering part of the nativity story with a visual. The children will be making a few of them as their craft. Please contact Kristina M. at 895-5946 or kmoelker@altelco.net if you are able to help a week.

Ø  Helpers are still needed in the following areas:
- Nursery coordinator to do scheduling – Jen Konyndyk, 895-4884
- Kitchen helpers (cooks) for Connections nights – contact Deb Zeinstra at 895-5160
- Children’s Worship Teachers for 3&4 yr. olds – contact Sue Brown at 723-2397 or Jerene Schierbeek at 608-5272.

Ø  Kids Hope USA reminder to mentors: On Tues., Nov. 10, school will dismiss at 12:05 pm, so no afternoon mentoring that day. Also, there will be no school on Fri., Nov. 13.

Ø  As the holidays draw closer, it is time to think about holiday baking.  Why don’t you take time for yourself this year and let the ladies from Coffee Break bake for you!  Choose from homemade mini-muffins, raisin brown bread, cookies, Chex mix, peanut brittle and clusters.  These baked goods make great gifts for friends, neighbors, teachers and family.  Order forms are in your mailboxes today.  Please return them, with payment, to the marked bag in the lobby on the Information Desk. If you have any questions, please call Jean at 895-4151 or Lisa at 892-9477.

Ø  Thanks: Mary and I would like to thank the congregation for the cards, gifts, (and M&M's) you gave us for "Pastor's appreciation."  We were particularly moved by the personal and encouraging sentiments in so many cards. We'd also like to thank those who helped us with support, prayers and meals following Mary's recent surgery and recovery. --  Harold and Mary Veldman

Ø  More thanks: Thank you for the prayers for my recovery from my recent illness. Also thank you to the Kids Hope mentors who substituted for me. –- Roger Sikma

Ø  And more thanks: Mike & Stacie (Jeurink) Veldhoff want to thank all those who contributed items for their grocery shower. Your thoughtfulness meant a lot!
