Bulletin for March 8, 2009

Ø    This Lord’s Supper will be celebrated this morning. Tonight we welcome Rev. Rik Stevenson to lead the worship service.

Ø    Prime Timers: There will be no meeting this Tuesday, March 10. Please mark your calendar for a Potluck on March 24, at noon.

Ø    Cookies are needed for after the Campus Ministries church service at GVSU on March 15.  Just as we enjoy cookies after our service, so do the students.  If you would be willing to bake some, please call Mary Espinoza at 895-5251.

Ø    ALL church members are encouraged to build a car and participate in the March 27 annual First & Second CRC Pinewood Derby. The SHACK behind church will be open from 6 – 8 p.m. on March 18, 23, 25, and 26 for people to work on their Pinewood Derby cars.  There will also be a Soup Supper by donation the night of the big race on the 27th. Mark your calendars!

Ø    Kids Hope USA mentors, there will be a half day of school this coming Tuesday, March 10, at Allendale Public Elementary School.  School will dismiss at 12:05 p.m. so only morning mentoring that day, no afternoon mentoring.

Ø    You missed your chance for this school year to be a Kids Hope USA mentor. But it is not too late. Please prayerfully ask God if He is leading you in the direction of being a KHUSA mentor for next school year; training will be in Sept. It is very rewarding to be that special person in an elementary aged child who is considered to be at risk by the school. You are there only for that one child one hour each week during the school year. That speaks volumes to a child of your love for them and your God. Questions? Contact Aileen VanderSchuur, Kids Hope USA Director, either at church or call her at 204-3540.

Have you submitted your favorite recipes yet for the cookbook the GEMS plan to have available this fall? They’d love to include a large collection with lots of variety too! Simply fill out a form, available from the table under the mailboxes, and return it in the big red box next to the table by May 17. Thanks for sharing!
