Bulletin for March 1, 2009

Ø    This morning, Clare Evelyn Williams, infant daughter of Patrick & Dana Williams will be baptized. Next Sunday morning the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated.

Ø   All women are invited to gather tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary to pray for our congregation. Questions? Call Rachael Taylor at 895-9414. Another prayer group meets on the morning of Connections Night. Everyone is welcome. Come to 11219 Brown St., Dr. Zahl’s office at 8:45 a.m. this Wed., March 4.

Ø   Connections Night on March 4 will be a Spaghetti Dinner, a GEMS Fundraiser. Cost: by donation. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Help raise money for the girls of this community to be part of the GEMS ministry. Friends, family, Grandpas and Grandmas --- ALL are invited!  Thank you for your support.

Ø   Cookies are needed for after the Campus Ministries church service at GVSU on March 15.  Just as we enjoy cookies after our service, so do the students.  If you would be willing to bake some, please call Mary Espinoza at 895-5251.

Ø   You missed your chance for this school year to be a Kids Hope USA mentor. But it is not too late. Please prayerfully ask God if He is leading you in the direction of being a KHUSA mentor for next school year; training will be in Sept. It is very rewarding to be that special person in an elementary aged child who is considered to be at risk by the school. You are there only for that one child one hour each week during the school year. That speaks volumes to a child of your love for them and your God. Questions? Contact Aileen VanderSchuur, Kids Hope USA Director, either at church or call her at 204-3540.

Ø   The GEMS are collecting recipes for a cookbook and would like to include as many as you’d like to submit. All recipes welcome. Forms are available from the table under the mailboxes. Put completed forms in the big red box next to it by May 17. The books will be published and available this fall.  Thank you for sharing your recipes! – the GEMS

Save March 27 for the annual First & Second CRC Pinewood Derby and Dinner. ALL church members are encouraged to build a car and participate. A donation will be received for the Soup Supper and then the races will begin.
