Bulletin for February 22, 2009

Ø    Tonight we Welcome Touch of Joy who will be lead us in worship.  Next Sunday morning, Clare Evelyn Williams, infant daughter of Patrick & Dana Williams will be baptized.

Ø    Save March 27 for the annual First & Second CRC’ Pinewood Derby & Dinner. Register for the Derby event and join the fun. Forms are available at the Information Desk.  

Ø    All ladies are invited to Bag Ladies on Tues., the 24th, at 7 p.m. in the double room. Bring a project to work on. Email Erin at erinensing@hotmail.com if you plan to come or have questions.

Ø    Connections Night on March 4 will be a Spaghetti Dinner, a GEMS Fundraiser. Cost: by donation. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Help raise money for the girls of this community to be part of the GEMS ministry. Friends, family, Grandpas and Grandmas --- ALL are invited!  Thank you for your support.   

Ø    Do you have a favorite recipe you’d be willing to share? The GEMS are collecting recipes for a cookbook and would like to include as many as you’d like to submit. Some categories to consider: Quick Cooking, Crockpot Meals, Smoothies, Diabetic and Healthy Delights. In your mailbox you will find a sheet on which to write your recipe. They’ll be collected in the red Recipe Box under the mailboxes. Extra sheets are available there too. Please turn in recipes by May 3 so we can have the book published and ready to sell this fall.  Thank you for sharing your recipes! – the GEMS

Ø    Allendale Christian School News: Paper Drive March 6&7 to collect newspapers & phonebooks. The PaperGator, located on the S. side of school, is available all day, every day to collect catalogs, magazines, office/school paper and junk mail. Enroll now for ACS Preschool 2009-2010. There’s a class for 3-year-olds and also 2-day & 3-day classes for 4-year-olds. Ø    Register by Feb. 27 for the Terry Teykl Prayer Conference to receive the discounted price of $30. "The Presence Based Church" and "Divine Stongholds" will be presented on March 7, at Calvary CRC. Ø    Family LIFE Center of West Michigan will hold its annual benefit at 7 p.m. on March 5 at Main St. Pub. Tickets ($20 each) are available at the Allendale Library, Family LIFE Center and Keegstra's in Hudsonville.

Ø    Borculo Christian School’s Kids Clothing & Toy Sale of spring & summer items will be 9 a.m. – noon on March. 7.

Ø    Right to Life of Holland is sponsoring an Oratory Contest for 9th-12th graders on March 17. For details, call Betty at 396-1037.

Ø    The Conference Grounds in Grand Haven would love to be your host for a week of family camping by Lake Michigan. There are activities for all ages: Bible study, Bible school, youth group, beach, pool, and youth center. For Your Information:

Ø    Nursery for infants and toddlers is available during both services. Partway into each morning service young children are invited to “Just Between” (for 2 ½ - 3 year olds) in room 122 or “Children’s Worship” (for 3-5 year olds) which meets in rooms 127 & 129.   

Ø    Sermons: Outlines, if used, are available on the carts in the back of the auditorium. Bibles are there also. Previous week’s sermons can be obtained at the Information Desk in CD format or can be accessed at the church website: www.2ndcrc-allendale.org Click Here to go to the Sermon page.

Ø    For those with special needs: The entire facility is barrier free. Large print bulletins are available at the Information Desk. The auditorium is equipped with a hearing loop. If you have a hearing aid, please set it to “T” for better hearing during the service. The best reception is at the center of the auditorium.
