Ø    The Unity Chr. High School 2008-09 P.A.C.E. Campaign will begin this week with a goal of $300,000. Your P.A.C.E. (Partners in Advancing Christian Education) pledges and gifts are crucial in providing tuition assistance and keeping tuition affordable.  Your participation in P.A.C.E. helps assure that finances do not hinder the children from receiving Jesus’ blessing through a Christian education.  Please give this your prayerful consideration.

Ø    CRWRC Disaster Response Services is seeking many volunteers to help with clean up and repair. Hurricane Ike has left 11,000+ homes in Texas, Louisiana, and Indiana damaged. Over 5000 homes in Iowa also had major flood damage in June. Please prayerfully consider how you might help. For more information, contact Art Opperwall, Groups Manager, opperwaa@crcna.org,  800-848-5818 or 224-0843, or Torey Kittleson, Assistant, kittlest@crcna.org, 800-848-5818.

Ø    You are invited to the annual Memorial Service hosted by Hospice of North Ottawa Community. It will be held Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Harbourfront Place Grand Ballroom, 41 Washington, in Grand Haven. For many years, this candlelight program has provided a meaningful occasion for individuals to honor and remember loved ones who have died…those who were hospice patients as well as many others. If you have any questions, call 846-2015 ext. 4606.

Ø    Camp Geneva is seeking an executive director. To nominate candidates or apply for the position, see www.campgeneva.org

Ø    Christmas is coming so why not start your shopping now!  The students at Allendale Christian School are holding their “Holiday Wishes” fundraiser now through Nov. 3.  Items available include: holiday gift wrap, gifts, cookies, nuts, chocolate, etc.  Wreaths from KP Tree & Nursery can also be ordered. Please place all orders with an ACS student or contact Diana Overweg (895-6014) or Denise Gulker (892-4868).  To place a wreath order, call Rachelle Brown (895-5030).  Pickup date: December 2 at school.  Proceeds benefit technology at ACS. Ø    Come and be a part of the Allendale Community Christmas Musical. All ages welcome. Performances will be Sat., Dec. 6 (outdoors) and Sun., Dec. 7 at the Allendale High School Fine Arts Center and will include refreshments and opportunities to connect with the community. Choir rehearsals began Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. at Second CRC. If you missed it, no problem, come today, same time and location. There’s a CD and choral music available for each choir member to take home. There are just 4 pieces of music to learn. Questions? Please call Jeff Bond at 895-4833.

Ø    Looking for all crafters, bakers, and home demonstrators!  North Blendon CRC will be hosting its first Holiday Craft Show on Sat., Dec. 6, from 9 am to 2 pm!  Booth rental: $25. Please call Alicia Schipper at 797-9878 to rent a booth or for more information.  All proceeds will go to benefit Kyle Hassevoort as well as Horse Play. Kyle Hassevoort is a 17 year-old from NBCRC who has spina bifida and is in a wheelchair. NBCRC is raising money to add a handicap accessible bedroom and bathroom on to his family's house.  Horse Play is a horse therapy program run by Curt & Tami Klinger through Barnabas Ministries and Bethany Christian Services.  They feed and care for the horses used in this program through donations only.  Thank you for your support!

Do you struggle with doubt? Throughout life, doubt plagues Christians and non-Christians alike. For some the struggle is constant, for others it creeps in from time to time. What can we do about it? How do we keep doubts from coming back? Does the Bible give any ideas on what we should do with our doubts? Find out on the Nov. 2 Back to God Hour. Go to www.BacktoGod.net for local stations and times.
