Ø Church School will begin Sept. 7. Four more teachers are needed!. Please pray about this urgent need. Teach a class alone or as a team. Call Lorie DeYoung, Head of Discipleship Ministries at 895-7649 or Kristina Moelker, Church School Director at 895-5946.
Ø Faith Friends begins Mon., Sept. 8. Six young people have expressed a desire to publicly proclaim Jesus as their Savior. Want to join them? Just fill out a form from the Faith Friends mailbox and return it as soon as possible so we can connect you with a mentor. Contact Lorie DeYoung if you have any questions or concerns. There is an alternate plan for those who would rather go that direction to Profession of Faith.
Ø The GEMS ministry needs 4 new counselors this fall. Love girls in 2nd – 6th grades and want to be used by God to impact young lives? Please call Lonna Driesenga at 892-4808 or Rachael Taylor at 895-9414 to volunteer or to receive more information.
Ø Kids Hope USA is having a backpack and school supplies drive for Kids Hope USA children this month. Please look for the Apple Tree in the lobby, pick an item that you would like to donate and bring donations to the tree by Sun., Aug. 24. Thank you! Any questions, call Aileen at 204-3540.
Ø If you are in 8th grade or older and would like to help out in the Media Center, please call Janet Feenstra at 895-6394.
Ø Information for the Sept./Oct. issue of the Second Thoughts newsletter will be due Aug. 17. Email items to Gailepunt@aol.com and also place a copy in the newsletter mailbox (bottom row, 2nd from the left). Use the newsletter to share ministry news, notes of praise and petition, decisions that impact the church, etc.
Reserve Tues., Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. if you are involved in a ministry at 2nd CRC involving minors and have not yet attended an Abuse Prevention meeting. In order to comply with all the requirements, staff and volunteers must have the signed information on file AND must attend this meeting. If you attended last year, you need not attend again.|

pray for safe travel and a fun time for the Cadets who will be leaving
for the International Camporee in Ontario, Canada on Aug. 5. Pray that
all the final details/plans will fall into place so that this will be a great
spiritual blessing to all those who attend.

Nigeria with World Missions.

Ø Camp Good Grief, designed for families that have experience the death of a loved one, will take place August 12-14 from 5 – 8 p.m. Each evening will begin with a light dinner and include a variety of other activities and speakers. Ø As the world focuses on China the next few weeks with the summer Olympics in Beijing, pray for open doors for the spread of the Gospel. Pray that the special section about Olympics on Back to God Ministries International Chinese website will not only attract people interested in news and facts, but that they’ll also be drawn to the devotional messages and come to know Christ.

The 38th annual Knollcrest Music Camp at Calvin College is still accepting applications for the summer season. for infants and toddlers is available during both services. Partway into each
morning service young children are invited to “Just Between” (for 2 ½ - 3
year olds) in room 122 or “Children’s Worship” (for 3-5 year olds) which
meets in rooms 127 & 129.

if used, are available on the
carts in the back of the auditorium. Bibles are there also. Previous
week’s sermons can
be obtained at the Information Desk in CD format or can be accessed at the

free. Large print bulletins are available at the Information Desk. The
auditorium is equipped with a hearing
