VBS begins tomorrow! Tickets have been placed on the seats this morning to use to invite kids to VBS. What an awesome opportunity! If you are in middle school or older and wish to help with VBS, people are still needed to guide the groups from location to location. Help any day or a combination of days. Interested? Come to the brief meeting in the auditorium after this morning’s service. It is for ALL workers and helpers of VBS. Reminder to all leaders and helpers, please be at church by 8:45 a.m. on Monday. Thank you!
Ø Beautiful Womanhood is a Christian marriage mentoring program designed to strengthen marriages and build community among women. Beautiful Womanhood dinners are held once a month for one year using the Titus 2 concept: older women teaching younger women. Do you want to have incredible influence in your marriage and home? Do you long to discover God’s heart for women? Join us this September for a new season of Beautiful Womanhood with women from our church. Ø The GEMS ministry needs 4 new counselors this fall. If you have a love for girls in 2nd – 6th grades and want to be used by God to impact young lives, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact Lonna Driesenga at 892-4808 or Rachael Taylor at 895-9414.
Ø Faith Friends begins Mon., Sept. 8 for those interested in publicly proclaiming Jesus as their Savior. Please fill out a form from the Faith Friends mailbox and return it soon so you can be paired with a mentor. An alternate plan for professing your faith is also available. Ø At the July Council meeting, John Konyndyk's name was drawn by lot to fill the open deacon position on the Friendship Team. John will be installed as a deacon at a future worship service. The Council wishes to thank the men who agreed to have their names available again for this selection process.
Kids Hope USA is having a backpack and school supplies drive for our Kids Hope USA children during the month of August. Please look for the Apple Tree in the lobby and pick an item that you would like to donate. Bring donations to the tree no later then Sun., Aug. 24. Thank you! Ø All ladies are invited to the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds on Wed., July 30, for Ladies Day. It will begin with coffee and donuts at 9:30 a.m. Mary Ver Wys will speak at 10 p.m. and lunch ($6.00) will be at noon.
Ø LifeWalk 2008 was a huge success. Approximately $16,000 was raised for the Lakeshore Pregnancy Center of Allendale! Thank you to all churches, sponsors, walkers and church representatives; we could not have done this without all of your support!
Ø The Family LIFE Center of West Michigan in Allendale, a non-profit, non-denominational ministry servicing pregnant women, is seeking new board members. The board meets usually the second Tuesday of the month. If you are interested, please contact Board President Lynette Brill at 895-5045 or tbrills@altelco.net.
Ø Prayer Wave event invitation: All believers are invited to participate (at no cost!) in any or all of the activities of “Prayer Wave,” July 27-Aug. 3 at Lighthouse Community Church of Allendale. Of special note are teaching nights Tues., July 29 (7 p.m.) and Fri., Aug. 1 (6:30 p.m.) – childcare provided – and Prayer Walking area churches on Sat., Aug. 2 (7 p.m.) followed by ice cream sundaes. morning service young children are invited to “Just Between” (for 2 ½ - 3
year olds) in room 122 or “Children’s Worship” (for 3-5 year olds) which
meets in rooms 127 & 129.

carts in the back of the auditorium. Bibles are there also. Previous
