Bulletin for July 13, 2008

Ø    The Church Picnic will be Wed. Don’t miss it! Please complete the RSVP to help those planning the event.

Ø    Calling all Christians who would like to publicly proclaim Jesus as their Savior.  Faith Friends begins Monday, Sept. 8 and we'd like to get you and a mentor connected and ready to go.  Just fill out the forms in the Faith Friends mailbox and return as soon as possible.  Contact Lorie DeYoung with any questions or concerns. Remember - we do have an alternative plan for those who would rather go that direction to Profession of Faith.

Ø    Please have all announcements for the July 20 bulletin in to the church office by Tuesday, July 15 at noon. Thank you.

Ø    Do you love working with children ages 5-10?  Prayerfully consider becoming a part of Second CRC’s Church School team. You may teach a class alone or as a team.  Contact Lorie DeYoung, Head of Discipleship Ministries at 895-7649 or Kristina Moelker, Church School Director at 895-5946.

Ø    VBS is only a few weeks away!  And, we still need many more people to help.  We need individuals to help with registration, leading groups of kids around, taking pictures and nursery.  Nursery will be available for all workers.  You do not have to commit to the whole week either.  Please sign up at the table by the Ticket Booth!  Sarah will be available to answer any questions. Also by the Ticket Booth, you will find items that you can donate.  Please take a ticket, keep one copy for your records and the other put your name and phone number and put in the box. VBS is also looking for old shirts that can be used as paint shirts.   So if you have any of those please place in a bag and put "Becky Spriensma" on bag.

Ø    The VBS nursery is in search of adults to help care for our volunteer's children during VBS.  Pick one or two days, or do all five (July 28-August 1).  Nursery time is 8:30am-12:15pm.  Love rocking babies?  This is perfect for you!  Call Jenny Walters at 875-6075, or email mjccwalters@charter.net to get on the VBS nursery schedule.

Ø    Nursery Notes & Needs: Jennifer Konyndyk is now the Nursery Coordinator. Needed are 2 teams of 2 people, either a couple or two separate individuals to help check children in and out for morning nursery. If you are willing to volunteer to help in the nursery anytime or to help with signing children in and out, please contact Jennifer at 895-4884 or email johnandjenk@allco.net.

Kids Hope USA is looking for 6 car booster seats that we can use for VBS and other future events when we transport children. Please contact Aileen VanderSchuur this week (204-3540) if you have one you would be willing to donate.

Ø    WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? We’re all searching for something in life. Sometimes we even take shortcuts to get what we want. It could be cutting through a parking lot instead of waiting for a street light or maybe it’s adding a couple extra hours to the time sheet to get a little more money in the pay check each week. Does it really matter if we ignore one of the rules? Find out on the July 20 Back to God Hour. Go to www.BacktoGod.net for local stations and times.
