Bulletin for June 15, 2008 |

Ø The High School Youth Group is going on a SERVE project to LaGrave CRC in Grand Rapids. They will be at the site from June 21-28, staying at the church and working along side urban ministries to be Christ's hands and feet. Please pray that doors will be opened for sharing the Gospel. If you would like a list of who is going, please contact Scott Albers at 895-5973.
Ø There will be a short informational meeting (no more than 5-10 minutes) after the morning service for everyone going on SERVE. Please meet Scott by the piano.
Ø The Weed Squad needs you! For lack of a better term or introduction, I’ll just say that we’re starting a small group to care for that part of the property outside needing regular weeding and some light pruning. This would involve a half hour or so every few weeks. The general plan is to have an area (or areas) assigned to each couple or single volunteer. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Bob & Rose Bosch at boschr@altelco.net or leave a voice message at 895-6978.
Ø All items for the next Second Thoughts newsletter are due today. Place items in the mailbox (bottom row, 2nd from left) and if possible also email a copy to Gailepunt@aol.com.
Ø Save your pop cans for the GEMS’ Pop Can Fund Drive! Use the bin in the lobby or call Rachael Taylor at 895-9414 if you’d like them picked up. Funds will be used for expenses for those going to the GEMS Leadership Conference in July.
Ø Kids Hope USA is looking for at least 12 new mentors for the coming school year based on requests from the school. What a great opportunity to make a positive difference for Christ in a young child’s life! These children need extra love or need to know that someone does love them. The need is great! Ask God if this is how He can use you. Training will take place this fall. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Aileen VanderSchuur at (616) 204-3540 or email aileenv@altelco.net.
Ø Looking ahead: On Sunday, July 6, there will be a Community Worship Service in the township park at 6:00 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. The service will be held in our church here in case of inclement weather.
Ø For you bargain hunters, Kids Hope USA will be having a backpack drive in August. See Aileen Vander Schuur if you have any questions or call her at 204-3540.
