Bulletin for May 25, 2008 |

Ø Tonight will be a combined worship service at North Blendon CRC at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Tim Howerzyl will be preaching and Andy Overweg will provide special music.
Ø New Council members will be installed next Sunday a.m.
Ø Reminder: May 18 was the last Children’s Worship this season. The year ended with a great graduation party (Abigayle and Kendra, see Mrs. Brown) and will resume again in September. A big THANK YOU to all the teachers who make our program work. We couldn’t do it without you. Thanks especially to Cheryl Johnston who is leaving us. You will be missed.
Ø Dear Mrs. Rose: All of the kids from Children’s Worship want to thank you for the 16 plus years you have given to make a program for us. We’re sorry you’re leaving and will miss you very much. Love, Your kids.
Ø HELP! Children’s Worship needs a few more “teachers”. If you love 3, 4 and 5 year olds and want to help them grow in the Lord, please contact Sue Brown at 892-4555 or Jerene Schierbeek at 892-4675. This is not a weekly commitment and you don’t need a degree – just love for kids and a willingness to “step out of the box”.
Ø A Nursery Coordinator is needed. Tasks: making the schedule, coordinating volunteers, and getting necessary supplies. If you would like more information or feel God nudging you to serve in this ministry, please call Janet Feenstra at 895-6394.
Ø There is also an urgent need for a Sunday School Superintendent (1 or 2 people), Missions Committee (2 people), Worship Planning Team (2-3 people). For details, contact John Worst at 895-5117 or Pastor Harold.
Ø Calling all women interested in praying! There is a group of women who have verbalized an interest in gathering to pray for our congregation, pastor and his family. Anyone interested is welcome to meet at church June 4 from 7pm-8pm. Questions? Call Rachael Taylor at 895-9414.
Ø Thank you to those already committed to VBS this year! More people are STILL NEEDED – a Bible Story teller and a Mission station leader. We are not only sharing the GREAT news to kids of our community but we are also teaching them how important it is for them to share with others too! Also needed is someone to coordinate a nursery for our workers that week.
Ø We are looking for volunteers to help with the FLOAT for the July 4 parade; helping to put it together, walkers and riders! If interested, please sign up at the Information Desk.
Ø If you can help by leading the kids to the different stations during the week of VBS, there is a sign up at the Information Desk as well! Work as little as 1 day or as much as 5 days! Come to the desk and sign up!
Ø Save pop cans for the GEMS’ Pop Can Fund Drive! Funds will go towards expenses for leaders attending the GEMS Leadership Conference in July. Please put pop cans in the bin in the lobby or to have them picked up from your house, call Rachael Taylor at 895-9414.
Ø Attention all Council members, including new and retiring ones, plan to attend the Council Retreat on Fri., June 13, at Allendale Christian School starting at 6:00 p.m. with a meal provided. There will be special guest speakers and a time for breakout sessions.
Ø Church families in need of Christian Education tuition assistance for the coming school year can apply by getting a form from Jim Krikke’s church mailbox and returning it to him no later than May 25 or call Jim at 895-5195.

Papers are in the Faith Friends mailbox. The sooner you fill them out, the sooner we can connect you with a mentor. Or would you like to know about an alternative route to public profession? Ask Carol Scholten (895-7497) Elizabeth VanderPloeg (896-7697) or Lorie DeYoung (895-7649).
Ø If you’d like to be included in the Second CRC Yellow Pages Directory which will list interests, hobbies, careers, and businesses, forms are available on the counter in the office or please contact Steve or Sara Ambrose at 847-2984, saraambrose@charter.net or 4423man@charter.net this week.|
