Bulletin for January 27, 2008

We are very glad you decided to come and worship God here today. Welcome!
We pray that you receive from God what you need today and that you come back again.
Everyone is invited to stay for refreshments and conversation in the lobby after the morning service.

Ø    Church School’s Lent Lessons will begin Feb. 24 and continue through March 16. Four station leaders are needed for Cooking, Missions, Craft, and Drama. Please consider leading the children in a station. It is fun, rewarding, and easy to do; one lesson four times.  Please contact Michelle Kolean at 690-5907 or mdkolean@sbcglobal.net if you are interested or have questions or ideas.

Ø    The amount in the Tech Fund is $12,811. Thank you for your generosity! The goal is still $20,000 and more contributions will gladly be received.

Ø    Kids Hope USA needs volunteers: a person to put together photo albums for children graduating from KHUSA; someone to plan and implement games for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sat. Mar. 22, a person to plan and implement crafts for the Easter Egg Hunt. If these opportunities sound like they fit you, please contact Aileen VanderSchuur this week at (616) 328-5590 or aileenv@altelco.net and leave a message.

Ø    VBS? Are you interested in helping to organize a summer program?  Contact Lorie DeYoung at 895-7649 or lady@altelco.net no later than February 10.

Ø    Watch the Information Desk for details about a Michigan Community Blood Center Blood Drive that will be held here on Wed., Feb. 13, from 4 – 8 p.m.

Ø    Deadline for Second Thoughts information: Feb. 10.

Ø    Everyone is invited to the All-Church Pinewood Derby on March 28. It will be a combined event with First Allendale CRC and there will be a Soup & Salad Dinner before the competition. Plan to come and make a car to compete. Let’s see who’s the fastest! Contact Dr. Marty to get a car. We need to raise about $400 for each Cadet attending the International Camporee.

Ø    There is a website search engine on the net at www.goodsearch.com that will donate to whatever charity you pick. Please start using this site for doing web searches. Put in Calvinist Cadet Corps in the blank and money will be donated every year to the Cadets free of charge to you. Last year the Cadet Corps office started using it and made $30.00. The more people that use it, the more money we can earn.

Please visit the website www.08x3.com to figure out the puzzle. It is a website put out by a group in support of the Cadet Camporee. You are given clues and an adventure and then you have to find out the answer. It is for all ages.
