Ø    This morning God’s faithfulness will be celebrated in the sacrament of baptism.  Aleah Grace, infant daughter of Nick & Kristina Moelker will be baptized.

Ø    A new Youth/Adult Discovery Group will begin this week. It will meet Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Triple Room at church. Topic: “Answers in Genesis” from the Ken Ham Series. For more information, place call Steve & Sara Ambrose at 9847-2984 or Jeff Schmidt at 566-4351.

Ø    Children’s and Jr. Choirs will not rehearse this Wed.

Ø    Some of the sound and projection equipment in the auditorium needs updating; the goal is to collect $20,000 for this cause. To date, $6,195 has been donated. A special offering for the Tech Fund will be received next Sunday morning, the 20th. Please prayerfully consider how you might help.    

Ø    We will be serving cookies at GVSU on Sunday, Jan. 27. If you enjoy making cookies and would like to help, please call Mary Espinoza at 895-5251 or Ida Roon at 895-6426.

Ø    Learning to crochet is one of the projects the GEMS will do in February. If you have any 2 oz. skeins of Sugar ‘n Cream Cotton Yarn or size G or H crochet hooks you’d be willing to donate, items are being collected in the marked box by the mailboxes. Thank you!

     For the calendar year 2007 we were able to pay Ministry shares in the amount of $21,800.
     Based on the number of members we have, our budgeted ministry shares was $81,600.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, Ed Rivet II, Legislative Director of RTL of MI, will speak at Third CRC in Zeeland at 7:30 p.m. on “CURES without Cloning or Killing”. This pro-life educational meeting is sponsored by Right to Life of Holland Area and is open to the public. A free will offering will be received.

Ø    Bethany Christian Services’ Refugee Unit is seeking homes for Burmese teenage refugees. Room and board is paid for by the State and medical needs are also covered. These teens have been forced from their homes due to war and/or threat to their lives. If you are interested in becoming licensed to provide foster care or if you would be willing to board an older refugee teen in your home, please call Dana Anderson at (616) 254-7741.

Ø    The churches of Classes Zeeland and Holland in partnership with CRWRC-DRS will be building a home for a needy family who lost theirs in Hurricane Katrina. The home will be built in Long Beach, MS Feb. 1-29.   Volunteers can choose a one week or longer assignment. Contact Gord Schreur at (616) 772-5954 or cell (616) 928-7390 for additional information or application.

Ø    The G.R. Christian Counseling Center will offer a free seminar Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. entitled “Mothering and Mourning” which will discuss the ongoing effects of early mother loss on one’s development. Call 956-1122 to reserve a seat.

Ø    Nursery for infants and toddlers is available during both services. Partway into each morning service young children are invited to “Just Between” (for 2 ½ - 3 year olds) in room 122 or “Children’s Worship” (for 3-5 year olds) which meets in rooms 127 & 129.   

Ø    Sermons: Outlines, if used, are available on the carts in the back of the auditorium. Bibles are there also. Previous week’s sermons can be obtained at the Information Desk in CD format or can be accessed at the church website: www.2ndcrc-allendale.org Click Here to go to the Sermon page.

Ø    For those with special needs: The entire facility is barrier free. Large print bulletins are available at the Information Desk. The auditorium is equipped with a hearing loop.
